Forgiveness
by Blair Warren
On a discussion forum I often visit there is a thread regarding the importance of being able to forgive others. The following is a response I posted that i thought I’d also share here. Though this is only my response and not the entire thread, it should be self explanatory.
While I agree that the ability to forgive is important, I think it is equally important to recognize when we need to *ask* for forgiveness.
I have found that the ability to recognize when we have hurt someone else is rare. And worse, our ability to admit this and ask for forgiveness is even more so.
Think about it…
By definition, for every person who needs to forgive another, there is another who should be asking for that forgiveness.
Why do we tend to think we only belong to the first group and not the second?
