Report this
If you listen to the news, it’s easy to get discouraged. Seems the only things they’re reporting lately are doom and gloom economic reports and predictions.
I’m not an economist, so I have no idea how accurate any of these reports are. But I do know something about them; I know they’re leaving out a very important fact.
When I speak with friends, colleagues and clients, I’m beginning to hear something new; I’m beginning to hear a resolve I haven’t heard in years. A resolve not only to survive, but to thrive. Their focus is intensifying. Their personal productivity increasing. And the results of these efforts have yet to be measured or predicted by anyone.
Perhaps we’ve all become complacent in recent years, but this is changing. To see this, we must ignore the media and listen to those around us who refuse to lie down and die. They’re out there. We must not let anyone tell us different.
We must also listen to the voice inside each of us that tells us to do the same. Do not give up. Refuse to give in. That voice is within each of us. If it wasn’t, we wouldn’t have survived as long as we have. It is time to for us to give that voice center stage. It is time for us to listen to it, and not the media.
And people are beginning to listen. And people are beginning to talk. A ferocious resolve is beginning to spread.
When this resolve reaches a certain point, all bets are off. The economic predictions will have to change. And thereafter, the economic reports as well.
It will not happen overnight. And things will likely get worse before they get better. Till then, we must not fully buy the story the media is feeding us.
No matter who wins on November 4, no matter what bailout plans are or are not passed, and no matter what predictions the experts make, the answer to our problems is already here. The answer is within each of us. And the answer is beginning to spread among us.
I wonder when the media will report this.

Great post, Blair. We need YOU on the news to offset the doom and gloom. I agree with you, whatever ultimately happens, it is the *we* that will have to AND WILL deal with it however *we* need to. United would be nice.

It’s amazing the extent that the packaged propaganda of the Mainstream Media corrupts the minds of the masses. The talk of a “recession” has been going on for years (when there was anything but that via the actual numbers), but now the media has managed to create a recessionary environment.
You could say it’s a simple matter of the old saying “a broke clock is still right twice a day’” but it is much more than that.
I for one refuse to “believe” in the brain-numbing crap freely handed out on a daily basis. And I know there are more of a similar mindset than the media would have you believe.
Maintaining an optimistic mindset is easier to do when you dig for the truth. For example, you knew bailout was wrong. And the proof is that the 4 main arguments for bailouts & “End of financial world” claims were based on were false up to 10/8/08.
It’s detailed in this report from the Federal reserve Bank; “Facts & Myths of 2008 Crisis” http://snipurl.com/crisismyths
This is a perfect example of why we must guard our minds against the onslaught of manipulation executed by media and pundits.

Well stated sir. Well stated indeed.
I know what you mean by the resolve. I really do know what you mean.
Thanks for the reminder.

For what it’s worth I’ll tweet the link for my small band of followers on Twitter

How much of the media is a perfect 3-D illusion-maker pill?
Who knows? Most of the greasy vat? Controlled by?
Welcome to the twisted ‘mindful’ constipation world? But one thing is for sure - the change is not only coming, but it’s ALIVE.
The Mental Enema?
Integrity to the idea that life was not meant to be a struggle begins to fuel the minds of the ones who notice. They have the flexibility to switch on the fly and go with the true flow that really matters in the end.
And what matters in the end?
It’s what already matters now.
Simplicity makes it so.Simplicity - another “it” to listen to intensely.

Blair, great post! I think the end result is going to be a status and wealth shift for those who don’t buy into this “world is ending” bullsh**. The media is just as much to blame for economic outlook as the very CEO’s who are projecting them. Strength and resolve is the only way that we can look past the smoke and see the truth. Integrity and smart work is the way through it.

Blair, you are a breath of fresh air....
I’m so tired of all of the doom and gloom out there and haven’t trusted the media brain-washers for quite some time now. The news-for-profiteers don’t place truth as their top priority, unfortunately.Thank you for telling it like it is....again.

It is coming to that; I’ve prayed (not literally) for years that people would get over TV and negative propaganda. Just to stand on a high mountain peak and look out creates the knowing that we are on such a beautiful planet. There is no necessity for anyone to be living in the hell of a media saturated existence. I’m sorry that children are fed on it, from cradle to grave, their miraculous potentials sucked up by the nefarious insatiable other-worldly existence that is “the media”. We can create our own media. I have to admit I almost want to cry when internet marketers I admire celebrate the arbitragers who bring us chevy and shell oil ads annoying us on the pages when we’re trying to read, talking all starry eyed about how they’ve learned to make 100Ks a day and they’ll teach us how to as well (gagging sound).
But even then, when people get to learning about and together practicing the power of mushrooms/mycology, alternative fuels, sustainable living, we’ll have more happiness and personal satisfaction vibrating in the world. Then maybe the dried up, molechian media will fall off the planet and float somewhere else, hopefully far, far away.
