Equal time
Last night I watched Larry King play footsie with the gurus in The Secret. Though the show was promoted as an investigation into the controversy over the film, it was little more than another infomercial.
Though King did ask a tough question now and then, not once did he follow up when his guests evaded his questions. He simply nodded with a wry smile and moved on.
What a wasted opportunity.
I wouldn’t have much of a problem with all this nonsense if it didn’t have the potential to destroy so many lives.
Despite what most people seem to think, not everyone falling for these ideas is looking for a quick buck and a fast car.
Some people are making life-altering decisions in the areas of health, wealth, relationships, and who knows what else, all based on what’s being sold as scientific fact.
And if it turns out their miracles don’t manifest, I hope the media gives them equal time to share their message.
