This is a website inspired by all things human nature.
I am fascinated by psychology, philosophy, mythology, persuasion, marketing, copywriting, magic (as in tricks), Magick (as in the Occult), scams, con artists, comedy, acting, and anything else that may shed light on what makes people do the things they do.
I’ve been studying these ideas as a labor of love for over 30 years and share some of what I’ve learned here. But please understand, these are my thoughts only and I’m not trying to pass them off as universal truths. Of course, like most people, I occasionally get carried away and overstate my case, especially in some of my earlier writing. But for the most part, I’m well aware I haven’t cornered the market on reality.
Still, these insights have served me very well so I suspect they aren’t all nonsense. And I suspect some are more valid than others. But I’ll leave that for you to decide.
Also, if you disagree with some of these ideas, notice contradictions in them, or if you find some of them upsetting, don’t be alarmed. To paraphrase Groucho Marx, these are my thoughts, and if you don’t like them, well, I have others.
And with this little quip, I’ll let you in on what may be the most important thing I’ve learned in all these years:
The deeper you delve into human nature the more important it becomes to maintain a sense of humor about what you find there. Otherwise you risk one day waking up and finding yourself in a very dark place indeed.
So, if I get a little irreverent or even silly at times, there’s a reason for it; I’m walking a fine line here and I’m merely trying to keep my balance.
As Shakespeare said, “All the world’s a stage.” Welcome to mine.
